For parents & students

Applying for a scholarship should feel simple — and private.

Asking is the point of this page, not an imposition. Tell us about the season your kid wants to join — or the one you want to join yourself — and we'll take it from there, quietly and quickly.

Two ways in

Who can apply

Either doorway leads to the same short, private process.

A parent or guardian, for a child

Applying for your son or daughter takes about five minutes. Tell us their age, the program they want to join, and what would help most — fees, gear, uniforms, or travel.

A student, 18 or older, for yourself

If you're 18 or older, you can apply on your own behalf — no parent needed. Same short form, same private review, same respect.

What's covered

What a scholarship can pay for

Check whatever applies when you apply — even one item still counts. Partial help is still real help.

Registration & participation fees

League dues, team fees, class tuition, camp costs — whatever it takes just to sign up.

Equipment & instruments

Cleats, a glove, a musical instrument, robotics parts — the gear a program requires but doesn't provide.

Uniforms

Team uniforms, band uniforms, scouting uniforms — the pieces every participant is expected to have.

Travel & competition costs

Tournament travel, competition entry fees, and the costs that come with advancing further in a season.

Our promise

Nobody on the roster ever has to know.

Families often won't ask for help — pride, privacy, not wanting to be "the kid on scholarship." We built this process backwards from that fact: asking should be the easy part, not the hard one.

Your application goes straight to the foundation. We review it, we fund it, and we coordinate payment directly with the program's office — not with the coach, not with the team parent group, not with anyone who doesn't need to know.

  • Applications are confidential — read only by the foundation's review team.
  • Awards are quiet — paid directly to the program, never announced to a roster or a class.
  • Support goes through the program, not through your child — nothing to carry, nothing to explain.
  • Asking is normal — this whole process exists because most families who qualify never ask.
How it works

From application to opening day

  1. ApplyOne short, private form — a parent, or a student 18+, tells us about the program and what would help.
  2. We reviewObjective, consistent criteria, reviewed by the foundation. Most applicants hear back within 5 business days.
  3. We coordinateWe reach out directly to the program's office to arrange payment — no invoices or paperwork land on your family.
  4. They participateYour kid shows up on day one like everyone else on the roster. Nobody needs to know why.
Common questions

Questions parents & students ask

Is it really private?

Yes. Applications go straight to the foundation, not to the program's coaches or front office. Awards are coordinated quietly through the program's existing accounts — nobody on the roster ever needs to know a scholarship covered the fee.

What if the program isn't a partner yet?

That's fine — most families who apply are the first from their program to ask. Tell us who they are, and we'll reach out directly. We won't ask you to recruit them.

Can we get partial help?

Yes. Check whatever applies on the assistance list — even one item, like just the uniform — helps, and it's still worth applying for.

How fast will we hear back?

Most applications get a response within 5 business days. If a season starts sooner, say so in the form and we'll prioritize accordingly.

Do we have to explain why we need help?

No. The form asks what you need, not why. Context is optional, never required.

Ready when you are

Apply for a Scholarship

Five minutes, kept private, reviewed with respect. If you're not sure you qualify, apply anyway — that's our call to make, not yours.

How this form operates — Fluent Forms, live on this page:
  • Collects: who's applying (parent/guardian or student 18+ — the child's first name is asked only on the parent path), contact details, city, participant age group, the program and activity type, what the scholarship should cover, and timing.
  • On submit: the applicant sees a private confirmation on this page; the foundation gets an email notification with reply-to set to the applicant; the entry lands in a review queue in the site admin.
  • Promise encoded: confidential review, reply within 5 business days.
  • Mockup note: field list is a working draft — final questions are tuned with the foundation before launch.

Mockup notes — what this page fixes (Kobold site audit, May 2026)

Fixed here: every instance of "Scholarship" on this page is spelled correctly — the live site misspells it "Scholorship" sitewide (audit Critical #1). The live /apply page renders no crawlable content and has no working, verified submit path (Critical #2); this page is real, indexable content with a real Fluent Forms embed that sends a confirmation to the applicant and a notification to the foundation.

Intended SEO: title "Apply for a Scholarship — The Next Generation Foundation"; description "Apply for a youth participation scholarship to cover registration, equipment, and program costs. Open to Texas youth in partner programs." (Important #6 — the live page has neither a page-specific title nor a meta description.)
