Privacy Policy
Effective date: [TBD]
We collect the minimum information we need to do our work, we never sell it, and every scholarship application is kept confidential. This page explains exactly what we gather, why, and how you can ask us to change or delete it.
Three kinds of information, nothing more.
Scholarship applications
Contact information, city, and program details — what the family needs and which program it's for. About the young person themselves, we ask for only what's necessary to process the request: first name and age group. We don't ask for more than that, and we don't need to.
Donations
Name, email, and donation amount. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment provider and are never stored on our systems.
Newsletter
Name and email address, so we can send our quarterly update.
Only for the reasons you gave it to us.
We use the information we collect to review scholarship applications, coordinate directly with partner programs on the specific scholarship a family requested, send receipts and acknowledgments, and send our quarterly newsletter to people who signed up for it. We never sell your information, and we never share it beyond the partner-program coordination a scholarship actually requires.
We ask for as little as possible, and we protect it.
Scholarship applications come from a parent or guardian, or from a student who is 18 or older — never from a minor applying on their own. We minimize what we hold about any young person, and we never publish a child's identity. If a photo of a youth ever appears on our site or in our materials, it's there only with a signed parental release on file.
We keep it only as long as we need it.
We retain application, donation, and newsletter information only for as long as it serves the purpose we collected it for — reviewing a scholarship, honoring a donation, or sending the newsletter you asked for — and no longer.
It's your information. You're in charge of it.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email we send. You can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to delete it. To do either, email info@nextgentx.org.
If this policy changes, you'll see it here.
If we update this policy, we'll post the revised version on this page with a new effective date. We won't make quiet changes to how we handle your information.
Mockup notes — what this page fixes (Kobold site audit, May 2026)
Fixed here: the live site collects scholarship-applicant and donor information with no privacy policy anywhere — this page closes audit Recommended #5. It's written in plain language rather than boilerplate legalese, covers exactly what we collect (including the deliberately minimal data held about minors), why, and how a family can ask us to delete it, and the footer links to it from every page.
Intended SEO: title "Privacy Policy — The Next Generation Foundation"; description "What The Next Generation Foundation collects from scholarship applicants, donors, and newsletter subscribers, how it's used, and how to ask us to delete it."
